Lider światowego rankingu tenisistów Novak Djokovic nie wie, czy będzie miał nowego trenera. W środę Serb ogłosił zakończenie współpracy z Chorwatem Goranem Ivanisevicem, z którym rozstał się w zgodzie.

– Jeśli chodzi o poszukiwania nowego trenera, to nie mam konkretnego pomysłu. Od najmłodszych lat zawsze miałem przy sobie trenerów. Myślę o tym, co może być dla mnie dobre – powiedział Djokovic na konferencji prasowej.

36-letni Serb, jak na swoje wysokie standardy, zalicza bardzo słaby początek sezonu 2024. W półfinale wielkoszlemowego Australian Open uległ Włochowi Jannikowi Sinnerowi, a w trzeciej rundzie turnieju w Indian Wells przegrał z innym włoskim tenisistą – Lucą Nardim. Zrezygnował ze startu w ATP Masters 1000 w Miami.

Djokovic prawdopodobnie wróci do rywalizacji w Monte Carlo. Poza tym niemal pewny jest jego występ na starcie kolejnej imprezy wielkoszlemowej – French Open (20 maja – 9 czerwca).
