Cole Palmer strzelił gola na 1:0 w meczu Chelsea z Burnley. Dla młodego Anglika był to już 20. udział przy bramce w tym sezonie Premier League. Wychowanek Manchesteru City podczas tej kampanii angielskiej ekstraklasy strzelił 12 goli i dołożył do tego osiem asyst. Taki wynik w historii drużyny ze Stamford Bridge w debiutanckim sezonie udał się niewielu graczom.

Jak poinformował serwis statystyczny OptaJoe, to dopiero piąty gracz w historii The Blues, któremu udało się zdobyć 20 punktów w klasyfikacji kanadyjskiej podczas debiutanckiego sezonu. Wcześniej niż Palmer dokonali tego jedynie Jimmy-Floyd Hasselbaink (sezon 2000/01), Eden Hazard (2012/13), Diego Costa (2014/15) oraz Cesc Fabregas (2014/15).

Palmer dołączył więc do całkiem niezłego towarzystwa. Na wyśrubowanie swojego wyniku ma jeszcze natomiast osiem kolejek Premier League, w których z pewnością jeszcze coś dołoży.
