Jak poinformował “Motorsport.com”, Aston Martin złożył ofertę pracy Adrianowi Neweyowi, który od prawie dwóch dekad jest związany z Red Bull Racing. Newey od dawna jest na celowniku rywali.

Zmiana na stare lata?

Brytyjski inżynier dołączył do Red Bulla w 2005 roku i od tamtej pory jest niezwykle ważnym ogniwem zespołu, współtwórcą wielkich sukcesów Sebastiana Vettela na początku minionej dekady oraz obecnej passy Maxa Verstappena.

Według “Motorsport.com” poważną ofertę 65-latkowi złożył Lawrence Stroll, właściciel zespołu Astona Martina. Kontakt nastąpił podczas wyścigowego weekendu w Arabii Saudyjskiej, a zaproponowana kwota ma odzwierciedlać poważne zamiary Strolla seniora, który wciąż ma mocarstwowe ambicje związane z Formułą 1.

Newey w ubiegłym roku podpisał z Red Bullem nowy kontrakt na kilka lat i mówił, iż nigdzie z Milton Keynes nie zamierza się wybierać. Z kolei Aston Martin – proszony przez Motorsport.com – nie chciał skomentować doniesień o próbie pozyskania inżyniera.
