Mamy medal mistrzostw świata juniorów!

Weronika Dawidek została wicemistrzynią świata juniorów w snowboardzie. Jak podaje Polski Związek Narciarski, 17-latka w finale została pokonana przez Kanadyjkę Aurelie Moisan, która była faworytką całych zawodów.

Zacięty bój w półfinale

Polka awansowała do finału pokonując reprezentantkę Szwajcarii, Xenię von Siebenthal o… zaledwie 0.03 sekundy. Wcześniej odprawiła z kwitkiem Czeszkę Adelę Keclikovą i Ukrainkę Eleonorę Pavliuk.

W finale lepsza od niej okazała się niestety Aurelie Moisan, która była również najlepszą zawodniczką eliminacji. Kanadyjka pokonała Polkę o 0.96 sekundy i pewnie sięgnęła po tytuł mistrzyni świata juniorów.

Dla Weroniki jest to jednak na pewno wielki sukces. Niespełna 18-letnia zawodniczka jest obecnie najlepszą z Polek w Pucharze Świata. W tym sezonie punktuje regularnie i z dorobkiem 74 oczek zajmuje 25. miejsce w klasyfikacji generalnej. Medal mistrzostw świata juniorów na pewno doda jej zatem animuszu na kolejne starty.
